A favorite Asheville hot spot shares its secret recipe!
Place a large pot over medium heat. Render the bacon with the onions, garlic, and turnips until the onions are translucent, 5-8 minutes.
Then add the collards and sauté another 10 minutes. Add the broth and stock, bring to a boil. Then reduce and simmer for 30 minutes.
Season with nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste.
