Description

Cuba has some of the best cuisine. Their food is mildly spiced, but it’s to perfection and I love it. My grandmother, from Cuba, used to make these and they are so yummy. (Of course, she would make them from scratch, and I’ve adapted it to work with canned ingredients).

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 Oz. Size) Black Beans
  • 1 teaspoon White Vinegar
  • 2 dashes Cumin
  • 2 dashes Salt
  • ½ cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 leaf Bay

Preparation

Open the can and pour it into your pot, juices included. Put in all the spices and bring to a light boil. Turn down the heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes. Done!

I would suggest serving these with any Latin dish. And the trick to making these taste great is to let the beans simmer for about thirty minutes to allow all of the flavors to marry.

Also, I have a shredded beef taco recipe that these tasted divine with. Eat up!

My husband is Cuban and would love it if I actually learned how to make something. I’ll have to try this for sure!

Yum! These were the best black beans I’ve ever made. Really simple, but great results! The teaspoon of vinegar really makes it. Sounds a little odd, but once you try it, you’ll be a believer!

The only thing I didn’t have on hand was a bay leaf, and my family isn’t too keen on bay anyway so it wasn’t a problem.

I will make these again and again!
