This is a Mennonite dish that is often seen at Sunday dinners.
In a large greased casserole dish, layer the vegetables. (Thawed or steamed veggies will bake much faster.) Mix together onion, celery, mayonnaise, and cheese. Spread over vegetables.
Melt butter and stir together with crushed soda crackers. Spread on top. Bake 30–40 minutes at 350ºF.
