This is really fantastic. Other than a brief freak out over the amount of cheese being used (that I would soon be consuming), it was easy to make and extremely delicious. Highly recommended.

I agree. Best Mac and cheese ever (so far). I didn’t have gruyere so I used maasdam (Swiss).

This was the best macaroni and cheese I have ever made. I took it to a family dinner last night and everyone loved it.

Made this to go with our Thanksgiving dinner. My son, who is addicted to macaroni and cheese, took one bite and exclaimed that it was “the best macaroni and cheese in the world!” It’s great and definitely kid approved!

Aimee – in step 2 you add the milk before you make the roux, is this correct? I always make the roux firts and add cold milk (prevents lumps) Just looking forclarification. Can’t wait to try. Thank you!

I’m a little confused. Do add flour to butter and then skim milk? In the directions it doesn’t say when to add flour. Looks great.
