This is a super quick and easy side dish that is great for a last minute idea or even to take as a potluck dish.
Wash the tomatoes and the green beans. Cut the ends off of the beans and pull the stems off of the tomatoes. You can cut the green beans into bit-sized pieces about 1 inch or you can leave them whole for a more elegant look.
Place green beans in a skillet on medium-high heat, stir while it cooks for 5-10 minutes or until they get to the tenderness that you like.
Next, add the stir-fry sauce and the chili sauce (I always add this second because the smoke it creates can make you cough), and stir to combine everything. Add fresh cherry tomatoes, if you like. Cook for another couple of minutes, just until the tomatoes are softened and warmed through. Then serve. It’s a nice colorful side dish that tastes great.
***If you are looking for an even easier way to make this you can use the microwave or even substitute a package of frozen green beans for the fresh ones.***
Some people don’t like the taste of warmed tomatoes, but I like them in kebabs and on pizza, so I added them to my mother’s green bean recipe.
Enjoy!
