Description

Make your own healthy and delicious applesauce at home! You won’t believe how easy it is. Also, by picking your choice of apples, you can control the tartness or sweetness of your sauce.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups Peeled Cored Apples
  • 1-½ cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon (optional)
  • ½ cups Sugar, Splenda, Or Any Amount Of Sweetener To Your Taste (optional)

Preparation

Place ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, cover, and simmer for 20–30 minutes or until apples are tender. Or place ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on high for 5–6 hours.

After apples are cooked, pour into a blender and pulse a few times to break up any chunks. This recipe will make 4 cups of applesauce.

I used a combination of half Granny Smith and half Gala apples and it was the perfect balance of tart and sweet. The cinnamon adds nice flavor as well.

My apples are Red delicious that are falling of the tree before being totally ripe and they made great applesauce. Love this recipe. Making another batch tonight.

Hi there :) you can use any sort of apples. Just depends on how tart you would like your sauce. I like to use jonathans and gala apples personally.

Great blend of ingredients. We had to throw it in the slow cooker instead (high for about 3 hours). It was a big hit!

Just tried this today and it was delicious! It was also very easy to make. I mashed up the cooked apples with a potato masher, right in the pan, and it turned into a beautiful, thick, slightly chunky applesauce. I will definately be making this again. Thanks for sharing!

My apples are falling off the tree faster than we can eat them so I made a batch of this apple sauce. Can not be any easier. Love it. I left it lumpy but then decided we liked it better put through the food processor.
