With just a few ingredients, you can make a quick, easy treat. Perfect for the holidays and also makes a great gift.
Line a 10 x 15-inch jelly roll pan with foil. Put a single layer of saltines on the foil (you will have a few crackers left over). Boil the sugar and butter in a saucepan for 4-5 minutes. Carefully pour over the crackers.
Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Turn off the oven. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top of the cracker mixture and return to the oven for 4 -5 minutes. Remove from the oven and spread melted chocolate chips over the entire top of the cracker mixture. Let set. (You can put it in the fridge to speed up the process).
When set, cut into 1-inch pieces. Store in an airtight container … if they last that long.

We make these every year! I like to top them with toasted almond slivers.
