Translated, this means “iced coffee with milk.” This drink is pretty much like a dessert. It rich and sweet and kinda like melted coffee ice cream. But I’ll give you fair warning. Do NOT drink this before bed unless supplementing with Ambien. It’s amped up. Rich French coffee—espresso, really—with sweetened condensed milk all poured over ice. Great for a hot day!
Pour sweetened condensed milk in the bottom of a glass/mug. Adjust to taste, but do not substitute with evaporated milk.
Note for the coffee: The Vietnamese prefer to use a coffee that has chicory in it – this enhances the flavors in the coffee.
Use a Vietnamese/French coffee press (see note below) to prepare coffee directly into the glass with the sweetened condensed milk. It will take several minutes for the coffee to drip into the glass—up to 15 minutes, if you like your coffee rich and screwed the press on tightly. It’s much like a couple shots of espresso.
Stir to mix the milk and coffee.
Pour over a tall glass of ice.
Enjoy! Wonderful on a warm day.
Note: the Vietnamese coffee press is cheap, from $2 to $5, and available in coffee stores or easily found online. If you do not have a Vietnamese/French coffee press, substitute 2 shots of espresso or a couple of ounces of a very dark rich coffee.

just a clarification/correction-
It is preferred to have a coffee with CHICORY in it, not hickory. Can’t seem to get this correction through, so thought I’d try it this way. I’m sure hickory trees are perfectly lovely, but chicory is better in coffee.
And see the blog for pics and more info about the coffee press used here.

I don’t know if there is a better way to drink coffee than this. Its my favorite in every way. My husband bought me the little coffee pots online for my birthday one year! I love him! When i crave coffee I crave it like this bold, rich, sweet and milky… Its coffee perfection!
