Sweet southern tea.
Put water into a medium saucepan and cover with lid. Set burner on high. Once water comes to a boil, remove pan from heat. Place tea bags in pan with the water and replace lid (leave the tags hanging outside the lid!). Let steep for 20 minutes.
Put sugar or Splenda into a gallon-sized tea pitcher. Pour hot tea over it, then fill pitcher with cold water, stirring to dissolve. I put the tea bags into the pitcher, leaving the strings out of the lid. Tastes best the next day. May be served with lemon or mint if desired.
