For some reason, peach iced tea is basically unheard of in Canada. It’s so delicious! Now that Niagara peaches are in season here, what better way to make use of these perfumed, juicy fruits than use them to flavour iced tea.
See my TastyKitchen recipe box for my simple syrup recipe. Then follow below instructions to make the tea.
1. Bring the water to a boil in a large pot.
2. Once the water has boiled, add the tea leaves (in an infuser) or teabags. Take the pot off the heat and let the tea steep. If you are using teabags, take them out after 2-4 minutes. If using loose leaf tea, you can let it steep for up to 10 minutes without the tea getting bitter.
3. Add the peach simple syrup. You might need more if you want a stronger peach flavour.
4. Let the tea cool, then chill in the fridge.
5. Serve chilled over ice.
