Made with a fruity simple syrup, Burgundy wine and brandy….one of the best Sangrias I have ever tasted!
Start by making a simple syrup.
Slice the lime, lemon, and orange into paper-thin slices.
In a medium stainless steel (not aluminum) saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil over high heat and cook until sugar dissolves.
Add fruit slices, pressing them into syrup with a wooden spoon until fruit is submerged.
Remove from heat, cover and let stand at room temp 6-8 hours for flavors to mingle.
Remove fruit slices and put syrup in a glass container or pitcher. Add burgundy, brandy, and ice water to taste. Mixture should be smooth tasting, not harsh. Add ice cubes and fruit slices to wine glasses for garnish.
