Lemonade with a little bit of ginger to give it a real kick. With fresh lemon and basil, this is refreshing, spicy and delicious! Great summer drink!
In a small sauce pan over medium heat, add water, ginger slices and sugar. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let syrup cool completely. Remove ginger slices if desired.
Mix syrup, lemon juice, lemon slices, water, basil and ice. Add more water if you like. Garnish with lemon slices or basil.
