Take a trip back to the 80’s! Where big hair ruled, valley girls drooled and we were all walking around the mall sippin’ on an Orange Julius. Make this and show your kiddies what it was all about!
Pour 3 cups of orange juice into a blender. Add the dry Dream Whip and pudding. Blend it for one minute on low.
Pour the mixture into a 2-quart pitcher. Add the remaining 3 cups of orange juice and stir well.
Tastes like a Dreamsicle. Yum!!
Cook’s Tip: Please use only the Dream Whip brand for this. I like store brand versions on most things but for this – only the Dream Whip brand will do. For an adult-only version, add a little vodka to this recipe to make a tasty Screwdriver.

This was so, so, so delicious!! I had to go back and get more OJ and pudding mix because my kids loved it so much!! Not sure about the earlier comment about it being gritty. We didn’t find that to be the case at all. Maybe they didn’t blend it completely or maybe it was because they didn’t use the Dream Whip brand. I would definitely suggest they follow the directions to a “T’ and maybe they’ll have better results.
I’m definitely sharing this with friends…thanks again. I love all your recipes

I tried this as well tonight. Not exactly as I remembered…a bit more gritty– but still sooo good! I added some ice cubes as well just to keep it chilled and add froth. I too used the store brand Dream Whip. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Tried this tonight. Not what I remembered an Orange Julius tasting like. I added some ice cubes and put it back in the blender, but something is still missing.

Hi Erin! Dream whip is a powder. It is usually found in the baking aisle of the grocery store near the jello-o and pudding mixes. You can use it to make all kinds of things. It’s nice to have on hand if you need to make a whipped topping in a pinch. There’s a great recipe on the box for a chocolate cream pie using dream whip. That’s really good too! Make sure you get the actual dream whip brand – I haven’t used store brands for this so I can’t really say how they would taste. Hope this helps and I really hope you like it.

Silly question, perhaps, but what is Dry Dream Whip? I’m itching to make me some of this as soon as I know what Dream Whip is.
When I was in Minneapolis last summer, I ran across a DQ/Orange Julius combo store. I couldn’t pass up a large version of this drink. Soooo tasty.
