I don’t particularly enjoy the acidity and bitterness of normal coffee, nor do I own a French press/cold-brewing machine. So this is my own (cost-efficient) version! Cold-brewed coffee is stronger and smoother than normal coffee, and I love it over ice and with some vanilla soy milk.
Note: I typically make 3-4 servings in a jar!
1. Remove the lid of an air-tight container (I use a cleaned out jar that once held some Trader Joe’s salsa!) and stir together ground coffee and cold water.
2. Put the lid back on and let sit at at room temperature for 4-6 hours, or overnight.
3. Tie a coffee filter to the mouth of a cup with a rubber band, letting it sit about 1.5″-2″ into the cup. When your coffee is ready to be poured, open the container and slowly pour coffee through the filter.
4. Carefully remove the coffee filter from the cup, add ice and your choice of creamer, and enjoy!

I have a version of this on my blog, only it makes a huge batch. I can’t wait to give your single serving recipe a try. Thanks.
