This was my Mother’s recipe, and a real comfort food. When the Nabisco Company discontinued Zwieback teething biscuits, a graham cracker crust, although good, was just not the same. Crisper plain biscotti crumbs make a better substitute. (The King Arthur website has a recipe for making Zwieback.)
1. Mix crumbs, cinnamon, butter and sugar for crust. Reserve 1 cup for topping.
2. Press into an 8″ pie tin. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
3. Cook filling ingredients until thickened. Cool, pour into cooled crust. Sprinkle top with reserved crumbs. Chill.

This was my birthday pie my entire childhood. I have never seen the recipe outside of my family. How wonderful another family was able to enjoy it.
