Super moist, super almondy, super yummy! I haven’t met a person who didn’t like these. And did I say they are super-easy to make?
Mix all the ingredients except the sliced almonds, in the order given. (Save the sliced almonds for the topping.) Spread in a greased or parchment paper-lined 9 x9 inch baking pan. Sprinkle with sliced almonds then sprinkle a little sugar (around 1 teaspoon) on top of that. Bake in a preheated 325-degree oven for 30 minutes or till slightly golden on the edges only. Remove from the oven. I like to cover it with a clean towel and let cool. The steam makes the bars really moist. Cut into 12 generous bars.

My mom used to make these and I never got the recipe before she passed away. I was so happy to find your recipe! I have made them a couple of times and brought them to family functions where everyone assumes I have used her recipe. Thank you so much for sharing this!!!!
