It’s hot! Really hot, and I decided a refreshing, cool dessert was just what I needed for my backyard picnic. Since I don’t have an ice cream maker (I know, I know, I need one and it is on my list), I needed to find a way to make a sorbet without one. This recipe is easy and you can use any fruit your family likes.
Rinse and slice the strawberries, place in a tightly sealed container and freeze overnight. Once the strawberries have completely frozen, put them in your food processor with the banana (which is not frozen) and blend until creamy smooth. Place into a container and put into the freezer for at least 2 hours!
This is so easy and so refreshing. The banana makes the “sorbet” very creamy and does not detract from the wonderful strawberry flavor. Go on, experiment—use a mango, blueberries, peach or whatever fruit you have on hand. This recipe serves 2.
