All the yumminess of a soft sugar cookie with half of the work!
Make as big or small as you like, and be creative with the decorating!
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 13×18 (half sheet pan) and set aside.
In a large bowl combine flour, salt and baking soda with a whisk and set aside.
In the bowl of an electric mixer cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing after each egg. Add vanilla & mix well. Add dry ingredients to wet mixture and mix just until combined.
Bake for 10-15 min (on center rack), until light golden brown or until a toothpick comes out clean.
For frosting combine butter and shortening until smooth and creamy. Add vanilla and salt.
Add powdered sugar in 1-2 cup increments until combined, then add milk and food coloring. Mix until smooth and spreading consistency.
Cut into squares as big or small as you like and serve.

I made these today. We are having people over for Memorial Day. I spent all morning cooking for this and wanted something that would be easy to make and everyone would like. These are great! Already a big hit with my son and husband… I am sure the company will like them too. I will use this recipe again, thank you for posting it.

These are pretty good. My family gave them two thumbs up. Next time I might add a little more vanilla extract tot he cookie dough for a little stronger vanilla flavor. I will make these again for sure.

These are amazing, especially the frosting. I will be making them over and over again.

These were to die for. So easy, no rolling. These reminded me a lot of the cookies made by Cheryl’s Cookies.

I have made these twice in the past week and have received rave reviews! I had to cook them a little longer than called for, but that may just be my oven. The first time I didn’t have enough frosting, so I doubled the frosting recipe the second time and it was just right. Delicious and fun to decorate!
