Fresh, four ingredients and perfect for these scorching temps!
Makes about 1 1/2 Quarts.
Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan to create a simple syrup. Heat until water and sugar boil together. Then reduce heat and simmer until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool completely (1-2 hours. I recommend making the simple syrup a day in advance so you can put all the ingredients straight into the ice cream maker).
Combine cooled simple syrup with pureed strawberries and lemon juice. Pour into ice cream maker and follow directions of the brand of maker you use.
With my ice cream maker you simply pour in the mixture, turn the switch to “On” and let it go for about 40 minutes until desired consistency is reached.
Serve immediately or put into a freezer-safe container and freeze.
