Description

Strawberry Blueberry Crisp, sweet and crunchy in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Fresh Strawberries, Hulled And Sliced
  • 1 pint Fresh Blueberries
  • 3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • White Sugar To Taste If The Berries Are Tart
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • ¾ cups Flour
  • ¾ cups Rolled Oats, Quick Cooking
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ cups Butter

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 F. Put the berries into a large bowl. Toss berries with cornstarch and white sugar (if using) until well coated. Butter a 10″ glass pie plate and place the berries into the pie plate. Set aside.

In a medium sized bowl, mix together the brown sugar, flour, rolled oats and cinnamon. Cut in butter until crumbly. Press the mixture lightly over top of the berries.

Bake for 45-55 minutes with a rimmed baking sheet on the rack below your pie plate in case it bubbles over.

Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream. Great any time of year but fabulous with fresh local sweet berries.

We’re big berry fans in my house, and I can’t wait to give this one a try. It sounds perfect to entertain with.
