This cardamom-flavored syrup is the perfect way to use up those crushed but still good strawberries from the bottom of the punnet. Pour it on strawberries and serve on yogurt, mascarpone or whatever floats your boat!
Place sliced strawberries in a heatproof bowl.
In a small saucepan, mix sugar, water and cardamom over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Cool slightly for 2–3 minutes, then pour over the strawberries.
Serve with plain yogurt, mascarpone cheese or ice cream.
