These were always brought to work by a co-worker. I loved them, and he finally remembered to bring me the recipe. They are great. He always frosted them with a chocolate frosting, but never shared that recipe.
1. Preheat oven to 400 F.
2. Combine butter, cocoa and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar and nuts. Add to cocoa mixture; beat well. Add eggs and beat well. Add sour cream, vanilla and soda.
3. Pour into a large baking sheet with a rim to prevent spilling. Bake at 400 F for 20 minutes. Test like a cake to be sure it is done. Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting and sprinkle with walnuts.
I use the regular cookie sheet to bake it on. Not sure what the measurements are, but it works every time.
