A moist, decadent chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine eggs and sugar in a bowl and whisk together until fluffy.
Add in flours and cocoa powder and beat with a mixer until well blended.
Gently, fold in sour cream.
Pour the mixture into a well-greased baking pan and sprinkle a bit of the salt over top. Just a touch will do – a little salt goes a long way!
Bake for 20 minutes or until done. Remove from oven and allow to cool before frosting.
To make the buttercream frosting, cream together a half stick of butter (at room temperature) with about a half cup of powdered sugar and a tablespoon of the cocoa powder. Add more sugar/cocoa to thicken. If you need to thin it out a bit, add a splash of milk. This is a super simple frosting that enhances this delicious cake.
