Rough around the edges—just how I love my pie and my man.
Preheat oven to 375ºF. In a 9″ pie plate, place 1 homemade pie pastry.
In a large bowl, combine cornstarch, tapioca, sugar, and lemon juice. Toss together. Now add blackberries and toss well. Let this mixture set for 10 minutes.
Pour mixture into pastry-lined plate.
On the other pastry, make star cut-outs if you desire. Place this pastry over the pie plate and crimp edges.
Bake 70-75 minutes with pie shields. Place a baking sheet lined with foil under pie, to catch any bubbling over that may happen.
