This pie crust can be used for desserts, main dishes, such as spinach pie for chicken pot pie. It is versatile.
Combine the flour, salt and sugar, then cut in the shortening.
In a separate bowl beat the egg, vinegar then add to the flour mixture. It should resemble crumbs.
Then add 3 or 4 tablespoons of water or until you can form a ball (be careful not to add too much water at once you can’t remove it).
Form two balls, one for the bottom of the pie and one for the top. Roll out one ball and place in the bottom of the pan. Roll out the other for the top.
The middle of the pie is up to you. Don’t forget to crimp the edges and cut slits in the top before baking anything.
