Pecan Pie is a true southern dessert. I think my hubby would eat it every day if I would make it for him. But that wouldn’t be very good for the waistline now, would it?
My mom is famous for her Pecan Pie. Whenever there is the occasion to take food to someone, she makes her wonderful pie. When I asked for the recipe, I couldn’t believe just how simple it was.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
My mom uses the frozen pie crust. If you use this, you will need to thaw it before filling. I prefer the refrigerated crusts. Remove from the fridge, allow to sit for 15 minutes then unroll onto a pie plate and trim the edges to fit. This type of crust will make it look like you slaved really hard in the kitchen. If you make your own pie crust, well then you really did slave hard in the kitchen and many kudos to you because your pie will definitely be the best.
In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into the prepared crust.
Bake for 30-45 minutes until firm. The center should not jiggle when lightly shaken.
