Description

Moist brownies with a peanut butter truffle layer, topped with even more chocolate. A little slice of heaven on earth!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE BROWNIES:
  • 3 cups Sugar
  • 3 cups Flour
  • ¾ cups Cocoa
  • 1-½ teaspoon Salt
  • 6 whole Eggs
  • 1-½ cup Oil
  • ¾ cups Milk
  • _____
  • FOR THE TRUFFLE LAYER:
  • ¼ cups Soft Butter
  • 1 cup Peanut Butter
  • 3 cups Powdered Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 6 Tablespoons Milk
  • _____
  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet Chcolate Chips

Preparation

For the brownies:
Combine brownie ingredients in a large bowl. Beat till smooth. Pour into a well greased 15×10″ jelly roll pan. Bake at 350ºF for about 20-25 minutes. Cool completely.

For the truffle layer:
Beat butter and peanut butter together. Add powdered sugar, salt, vanilla, and enough milk till mixture is creamy. It will be thicker than regular frosting. You can kind of spread and pat it on top of the brownies with the back of a spoon.

For the topping:
Combine the oil and chips in a small glass bowl. Microwave at 50% power till melted, stirring often. Add more oil if needed. Drizzle on top of the brownies.

Lady, it looks like you know (and love!) your brownies! I only know this because I know (and love!) my brownies too! I will try both of your recent recipes very soon. I would like to halve this recipe, and was wondering what size pan you would recommend?

I’ve made these 3 times and decided it high time for a review! There are decadent and prove to be a favorite when taken to a potluck!
