This is a crusty peach cobbler with a gooey peach filling. You can use fresh peaches or canned. When no pie crust is used, the batter makes a tender cake with a crunch on top. A little vanilla ice cream while it is warm will send you to the moon. Super delicious!
Preheat oven to 350.
Peel and slice peaches, then line a 9×13 casserole dish with peaches. (If you are using canned peaches use 1/2 of juice, drain other 1/2).
Cream butter & sugar (1 1/2 cups) together, add milk, mix well.
Add flour, baking powder and salt (1 tsp). Pour this mixture over the peaches.
Then mix 1 1/2 cups sugar, cornstarch and 1/2 tsp of salt, sprinkle over the peaches and batter.
Pour hot water over the sugar/cornstarch/salt mixture. Bake and Enjoy!
