Description

Nutella caramel hazelnut oooey gooey brownies.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups All-purpose Flour
  • ⅓ cups Cocoa Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ sticks Unsalted Butter (Room Temperature)
  • 2 whole Large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ cups Caramel Sauce, Room Temperature
  • ¼ cups Nutella, Melted (More If Desired)
  • 1 bag (8 Oz.) Small Bag Of Hazelnuts, Or More If Desired

Preparation

Note: This recipe is baked in a 10×7 baking pan. They make 6 large brownies.

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Into a mixing bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder. Using a whisk, mix together and set aside.

2. Into your stand mixer, add sugar and butter; cream together. Add in eggs one at a time and mix well. Add in vanilla. GRADUALLY add in your flour mixture until it’s well combined. Batter should be thick and sticky.

3. Spray an ovenproof dish {10 x 7} with cooking spray. Place a piece of parchment paper (slightly larger than your dish to allow for easy removal) inside. It will adhere to the bottom of the dish. Spray the top of parchment paper with cooking spray also. Take HALF of your brownie batter and smooth it on top of the parchment paper.

4. Take your caramel sauce and pour it over the brownie mixture {be careful not to place too close to edges}. With a spoon gently spread. Place the remaining brownie batter on top, smoothing it out.

5. Bake for approximately 30-40 minutes or until sides are firm and center is no longer giggly.

6. Allow brownies to cool completely before slicing. Cut your brownies using a serrated knife.

7. Make a small indentation with your finger into each brownie. Take your melted Nutella {I melt for approx 15 seconds in the microwave} and drizzle over the tops of the brownies. Garnish with the hazelnuts.

Hey there! I email myself great recipes and I’m having a big dinner at my house Thursday night and want to make these! Have you ever made them the night before and reheated them? I have a lot I’m trying to make that day and wondered if I could do these ahead. Let me know the best way to reheat and serve!! :)

I made these for a 4th of July party and they were a huge hit! I made the first batch in an 8×8, then I doubled the recipe in a 9×13. I couldn’t find hazelnuts, so I used walnuts and theta were still sooo yummy and easy to make!

is the carmel sauce bottled – storebought? Or am I missing the recipe for it?

Thanks!

I love nutella, so naturally making this recipe was a must. However, as written the recipe was much harder than it needed to be. I put a layer of melted nutella and caramel in the middle, nixed the parchment all together and buttered an 8×8 nonstick pan instead. Next time i would DEFINITELY double the recipe–there just isn’t enough batter (barely enough with the 8×8 pan even after fending off the bowl lickers.) Drizzled the brownies with the melted nutella and put them in the fridge after they cooled to let the caramel set. I would recommend getting creative and combining this recipe with ree’s knock you naked brownies–simply subbing the chocolate chips with melted nutella.

These are tasty but I did have to adapt it to get them to work at my altitude.

the caramel sunk right to the bottom and made them difficult to get out of the pan, but they were delicious!

I doubled this recipe because the reviews recommended it. I omitted the caramel sauce because I didn’t have any on hand, and left out the hazelnuts because I don’t like nuts in brownies.

I really like the brownie- I find it is hard to find a good brownie recipe that isn’t a box mix- but I wasn’t terribly fond of the nutella on top. Would have preferred it without. But I will be keeping the brownie recipe for future reference!

These got a 5 mitt review from my husband’s office. They were pretty easy to make, and I sent my husband with the nutella and nuts to finish it when he got there and they could have warm nutella. :-)
