An almost fudge chocolate icing for cakes and brownies.
Mix all ingredients except for vanilla together in a sauce pan. Cook over medium heat until butter is melted, whisking gently to blend ingredients.
Bring mixture to a rolling boil, stirring occasionally until it boils. Boil on medium heat for exactly two minutes. DO NOT STIR OR MAKE EYE CONTACT WITH MIXTURE.
Remove from stove, stir in vanilla, and let sit for five minutes. Begin stirring and stir until icing loses a little bit of the shine, or your arm falls off, whichever comes first. Frosting will thicken as it cools.
Pour over cake, letting it drip over the sides. Spread as needed. Eat the last spoonful as a reward for all that stirring.

This looks like an icing we get at one of our grocery stores bakeries in Richmond that I’ve been dying to dissect and remake, I’m going to have to give this a try!
