Fun, shortbread type brownies that get me a date every time I bake them.
1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
2. Line a 9x9x2-inch baking pan with foil (make sure the ends of the foil hang over the sides – you’ll use this as handles to remove the brownies from the pan) and set aside.
3. In a medium bowl stir together 1 cup flour and the brown sugar. Cut in the ½ cup of butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the ½ cup chocolate pieces. Press into prepared pan. Bake for 8 minutes.
4. While your pan is in the oven, grab a large bowl and stir together granulated sugar, ¾ cup flour, the cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Add the eggs, melted butter and vanilla. Beat by hand until smooth. Stir in the 3/4 cup of chocolate pieces.
5. Once your bottom crust is done, remove it from the oven and carefully pour the other mixture over the top.
6. Bake 40 minutes longer.
7. Once done, let cool in the pan then lift brownies out of pan by lifting up the foil.
8. Cut into small, medium or large pieces and enjoy!
