This recipe belongs to my 90 year old Mother – she has made and served it 100’s of times, and I have not heard of one person who didn’t love it! I have been making it myself for 25 years, and think it is the best ice cream I have ever had!
Beat cream cheese into sugar and mix well. Mix in flavorings and half and half – blend well. Pour into ice cream machine and add milk to the top of the fill line. Proceed according to your own ice cream maker’s instructions.
If wanted, you can also add raw eggs to this to make a slightly creamier ice cream. If you decide to do this, you would add 6 eggs one at a time, beating between each one, at the point in the recipe before the flavoring is added. I know it is probably safe and people eat raw eggs every day — it is just a phobia of mine so I don’t! Proceed with the rest of recipe as written.

I made this recipe last nite but I had some problems with it. First of all I have to say that it is really delicious. I love the tang that the cream cheese gives to the ice cream. But the problem I had was that it never set up in my Salton Ice Cream maker. I don’t know why. I followed the mfg instructions. I ended up putting it in the freezer and I had some ice crystals form in the mixture but it is still a very very good recipe and very very easy. I do plan to try it again.
