Description

And Old Fashioned Favorite cooked in my trusty Iron Skillet. I secretly heart my Iron Skillet.

Ingredients

  • 6 whole Large Apples (2 - 1/2 Lbs)
  • ¼ cups Water
  • 1 whole Lemon (Juice Of The Lemon)
  • 2 cups Rolled Oats
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 2 cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
  • 1-¼ cup Melted Butter

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine the apples, water, and lemon juice in a large iron skillet.

In a bowl, combine the oats, flour, sugar, and cinnamon.

Pour in the butter and stir to make a crumbly mixture.

Spread the topping in an even layer over the apples and bake for 45 – 60 minutes, or until the topping is crisp and brown and the apples are cooked through.

This dessert is a big hit in my house right now. You must have a huge iron skillet though because I only used 4 apples and it still over flowed all in my oven, but it is so worth it. I think I could eat the whole thing by myself. I will be making this again for sure!
