This ice cream gets extra depth from the introduction of some unlikely ingredients.
This recipe makes about 5 cups.
Combine the cream, milk, vanilla and sugar in a large bowl. Mix for a few minutes or until you can tell that the sugar has dissolved completely into the ice cream. Add the Grape-Nuts and break up the graham cracker into large chunks before adding it as well. Mix to combine. Cover the bowl with a sheet of plastic wrap and put it into the refrigerator. Let the mixture refrigerate for at least 2 hours, though I prefer overnight.
Strain the cream mixture into a bowl to separate out the Grape-Nuts and graham cracker. Pour the cream into your ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Enjoy!
