Description

The Guinness beer somehow makes these brownies so rich and deep in flavor! The nuttiness of the beer really works so well with the dark chocolate and the moistness is phenomenal.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces, weight Dark Semi-sweet Chocolate Pieces
  • 1 cup Butter, Softened
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, Softened
  • 3 cups Sugar
  • ½ cups Guinness Beer
  • 4 whole Eggs
  • 1-⅓ cup Flour
  • 6 Tablespoons Dark Cocoa Powder
  • 10 ounces, weight Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Preparation

1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

2. Take a 12×16″ sheet pan (a cookie pan with sides), and put a sheet of parchment paper down on the bottom of the pan. Then spray the top of the parchment and the sides of the pan with non-stick baking spray. Set aside.

3. Put the chopped chocolate into a small microwave-safe bowl and microwave it for 90 seconds.

4. Whisk the chocolate until very smooth. Set aside to cool.

5. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, whip all of the butter and the sugar until it is light and fluffy. Add the beer and beat until well combined.

6. Beat the eggs in one at a time, until they are completely mixed in, then slowly beat in the cooled melted chocolate. Set aside.

7. Sift the flour and cocoa powder together into a small bowl, and then slowly add it to the batter, mixing it in until it is just combined.

8. Add the chocolate chips, and mix until just combined.

9. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan, and spread evenly to the edges.

10. Bake the brownies at 350 F for 25-30 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Do not over bake!

11. When the brownies are finished, let them cool completely before cutting into them for the cleanest cut.

Loved these, really rich and moist in flavor. It is really easy to overbake them… my edges ended up a little to crispy. But hey, the middle sure was great ;)!

Oh my gosh, I died and went to Guinness heaven. These brownies are DELICIOUS and SO rich. I didn’t have the right pan, so I used a 9×13 pan, and had to bake them about 30 minutes more than the posted cooking time, and I had to lower the temp. to 325 halfway through so they didn’t burn. The edges ended up a little crunchy, but they were still great. My husband loved them, too, and these definitely made the short list. We served them with vanilla bean ice cream and Hershey’s Dark Syrup, and it was the perfect combination. We definitely will make these again!!! Thanks so much for sharing!
