A crispler is kind of a cross between and fruit crisp and a cobbler. The topping is softer, and more biscuit-like than a crisp, but it’s not exactly a cobbler either. For step-by-step photos, see related link.
Preheat the oven to 375° F. Generously butter a 2-quart casserole dish or a cast iron skillet. Combine all ingredients for topping (everything except last four ingredients).
Put prepared fruit in a large mixing bowl. Combine the sugar and cornstarch and sprinkle over the fruit. Mix thoroughly. Sprinkle lemon juice over it.
Transfer the fruit to the prepared pan or dish. Sprinkle the topping over the fruit. Bake for 30-40 minutes, until the topping is lightly browned and the filling begins to bubble. Serve warm or at room temperature.

The flavor was great I would make this again.
My variations:
Since I used fresh peaches from my tree, I added about
2 Tbs. of cornstarch and I also doubled the topping and substituted the walnuts for pecans.

Very yummy and super easy to make. I used a 2.5 quart dish instead so I didn’t have as much crisp on top but still delicious. Vanilla icecream made it to die for.

Hmmm… this looks like the British fruit crumble. Will give it a try – looks good!
