Description

This is a delicious treat that you can make regularly with vanilla ice cream, or do like I do and use coffee ice cream or mint chocolate chip ice cream. Use your favorite ice cream. This is a major hit with anyone I have made it for. Most people take one bite and say “Whoa, this is AWESOME” or “Who made this!”

Ingredients

  • 30 whole Oreos (crushed)
  • 6 Tablespoons Butter, Melted
  • ½ gallons Bluebell Coffee Ice Cream
  • FUDGE:
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 2 blocks Semisweet Chocolate (or 5 Tablespoons Cocoa)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • ⅔ cups Evaporated Milk
  • 1 container Cool Whip (8-12 Ounces)
  • 1 bag Heath Baking Bits

Preparation

Mix crushed Oreos with melted butter and press on bottom of greased 9×13 pan. Put it in the freezer for 10 min. or longer. (Sticking it in the freezer as you put each layer will help it freeze better.)

Put softened coffee ice cream on top of Oreo layer, and freeze. For fudge, in a saucepan on low to medium heat, melt butter and chocolate squares (or if you are using cocoa instead of squares, pour it in). Stir until melted and mixed. Add vanilla and powdered sugar, stirring until the lumps are gone. Add evaporated milk and boil until thick, stirring so it doesn’t burn. Let cool. Pour this on top of the frozen ice cream layer. Freeze again. Put Cool Whip on top of the fudge layer. Then pour as much heath bits as you like on top. I get excessive because I love heath! Then freeze overnight and voila – deliciousness!

You can also substitute vanilla ice cream and instead of heath, use cashews or mint chocolate chip ice cream and for topping, use mini chocolate chips or Andes mint baking chips. Use whatever you like the best! Also, if you don’t have ingredients for fudge, you can use a jar of Smuckers hot fudge. I make homemade because I think it’s way better. ENJOY!

The picture is of when I made it with mint icecream.

Oh I get it. The bits were in the Fudge ingredients so I thought it was for the fudge, but it’s just the sprinkle on top. NEVERMIND! I’m not an idiot, just had moment ;)

Definitely a keeper! My son always wants an ice cream cake for his birthday. He likes this one better than the expensive cakes from Cold Stone. I made the fudge sauce with chocolate squares and special dark cocoa powder. It was the perfect on the cake…gooey and rich!
