My grandmother was a wonderful cook and this is one of my favorite pies.
1. Wash and hull strawberries. Line the pie shell with the nicest strawberries, with the narrow tips up.
2. Mash remaining berries and add enough water to measure 2 cups.
3. Add sugar and cornstarch, mix well.
4. Heat berry mixture in a saucepan on medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture has thickened.
5. Cool mixture. Pour into the pie shell. Refrigerate until set up.
6. Top with whipped cream and serve. Refrigerate leftover pie.
