My family and friends request these all the time. It makes a thick brownie that’s perfect for the base to a hot fudge cake.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Line a 9×9 pan with aluminum foil. Grease or spray foil.
In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar and cocoa powder.
Add softened butter, mix well.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Beat with electric mixer on low til combined.
Add the flour and salt. Mix til combined.
Beat with mixer on medium-high 3-5 minutes.
Pour batter into the greased foil-lined pan. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes. To test if done, a fork inserted in the middle will come out with moist crumbly stuff on it. If it’s still liquidy, bake another 5 minutes.
When done, take pan out of oven, then lift the foil out of the pan and set on a cutting board. Let set for 3-5 minutes, then cut into squares.
Can make 9 big brownies or more smaller ones, depending on number of cuts. These make very thick brownies due to the smaller pan, they’re perfect for the base for a hot fudge cake!
