Description

This sinfully delicious dish is always a big hit, whether you are making it for company or bringing it to a potluck. So if you are a fan of all things chocolate, this is the dessert for you!

Ingredients

  • 8 whole Regular Size Heath Bars Or Skor Bars (chocolate Covered English Toffee)
  • 1 box Brownie Mix (19.8 Oz. Box)
  • ½ cups Oil, More Or Less As Directed On Brownie Mix Package
  • 2 whole Eggs, More Or Less As Directed On Brownie Mix Package
  • 2 boxes Instant Chocolate Pudding (1.4 Oz. Box, I Use Fat Free/Sugar Free)
  • 4 cups Milk, More Or Less As Directed On Pudding Package
  • 16 ounces, weight Cool Whip (I Use Light)

Preparation

My mother-in-law was the first one to introduce me to this dish, and I’ve been hopelessly addicted ever since!

Toss Heath Bars in the freezer for approximately 20 minutes. Remove from the freezer, unwrap and place in a Ziploc bag. Pound with a rolling pin until the bars are broken into pieces.

Prepare brownies (typically using water, oil and eggs, as listed) according to package directions. Allow to cool and cut up into 1- to 2-inch squares.

Mix pudding with the required amount of milk according to package directions.

In a glass trifle bowl, layer 1/2 of the cake cubes, 1/2 of the pudding, 1/2 of the crushed candy bars, and 1/2 of the whipped topping.

Repeat layers in the same order. Save the last little bit of toffee bars to crumble and sprinkle on top before serving.

Cover and refrigerate for several hours.

I make this one all the time. You can buy the chocolate Heath Bar in the grocery store already crunched up. Its normally in the section next to the chocolate chips.

When my family makes this we use chocolate cake and snickers with health pieces. This is always a hit at parties I bring it to and everyone asks me to bring it again! So easy and so delicious!

My family loved this! Just make sure you make it the day that you’ll be serving it…I made it the night before and the brownies were mushy when it was time to eat it.

I made this last week for a church potluck lunch. It was good, but I was expecting more yumminess from it.

I think it needed more Heath bar. The Heath bar was the only zing to the dessert and there just wasn’t enough.
