Description

Layers of cream, chocolate biscuits, nuts and caramel!

My in-laws love this rich and sweet dessert – and it’s so easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 7 ounces, weight Chocolate Biscuits (Here In South Africa We Use Romany Creams)
  • 1 tablespoon, 1 teaspoon, 1 pinches Sherry Or Port Or Any Dessert Wine Or Liqueur
  • 1 cup, 2-⅔ teaspoons, ⅞ pinches Cream (whipped Until Stiff)
  • ¾ pounds, ¾ ounces, weight Caramel (I Think In The USA You Call It Dulce De Leche?)
  • ½ pounds, ⅞ ounces, weight Fine Crushed Nuts (any Nuts Will Do - I Use Pecans Because My Hubby Likes It!)
  • ½ cups Grated Chocolate

Preparation

Layer a dish with layers of the following:
biscuits
drizzle the biscuits with the dessert wine
whipped cream
caramel/Dulce de leche
nuts
grated chocolate

Repeat the layers until you run out of ingredients, but make sure you end with the grated chocolate.

Refrigerate for at least a few hours and enjoy with custard or ice cream!

Warning! This is a very, very sweet dessert and not for the faint hearted.
