Description

A delicious cherry tart pastry treat.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups All Purpose Flour, Sifted
  • 2-¼ cups White Sugar
  • 3 sticks Butter, Softened
  • 6 whole Eggs
  • 1-½ teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 can (21 Oz. Can) Cherry Pie Filling
  • Powdered Sugar, To Sprinkle On Top

Preparation

In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients except pie filling. Spread in a greased jelly roll pan.

Place 2-3 cherries (when cut, there will be 5 squares across the short side of pan) 1 to 2 inches apart across the short side of the pan.

Bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees (F).

Cool completely.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar and cut in cute little cherry squares!

It’s like magic—yep, magic!

I just checked the related blog post and it is 3 STICKS of butter. Sorry – I missed this when editing. I just changed the ingredients list to reflect the amount listed on the blog post.
Happy Cooking!

I was also confused about the three cubes of butter. Exactly how much is that? I’m afraid I am showing my ignorance. lol

Oh this is ABSOLUTELY going tailgating with us! Might even have to think about serving this instead of cake for son’s graduation! The child would walk through fire for anything cherry!
