Description

A dessert jewel! I love to make them for special occasions, sweet gifts, or beloved company. Eating a healthy nutrient-dense diet doesn’t mean you can never have a special sweet treat and these are worth every calorie.

Ingredients

  • 1 box Favorite Standard Boxed (17.5 Oz Size) Brownie Mix
  • Additional Required Ingredients Specified On The Brownie Box (typically Water, Eggs And Oil)
  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 1 Tablespoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Confectioners (Powdered) Sugar
  • 1 cup Marachino Cherries, Drained & Coarsely Chopped

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 F. Prepare an 8×8 baking dish with cooking spray.

Prepare brownie batter as directed on the package instructions. Set aside.

Meanwhile, mix softened cream cheese, vanilla and powdered sugar in a medium sized bowl until you reach a creamy consistency. (Don’t worry if there are a few lumps). Add cherries and fold until evenly mixed.

Spread half of the brownie batter into the baking pan, then spread the cherry mixture over that, as evenly as you can. Top with the remaining brownie mixture also spreading as evenly as you can.

Bake at 350 F for approximately 45 minutes, or until brownies are done. Remove from oven and set dish on a rack to allow brownies to cool.

When cooled, cut brownies into 2 inch squares. These decadent treats are deliciously addictive. Enjoy!
