Description

Delicious chewy granola bars that are easy to make and customize with pantry ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 4-½ cups Oats
  • 1 cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ½ teaspoons Almond Extract (optional)
  • ⅔ cups Butter, Softened
  • ½ cups Honey
  • ⅓ cups Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips
  • 6 ounces, weight Dried Cherries
  • 1 bag (6 Oz. Size) Sliced Almonds

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease one 9×13 inch pan.

In a large mixing bowl combine the oats, flour, baking soda, salt, vanilla, almond extract, butter, honey and brown sugar. Stir in the chocolate chips, cherries, and almonds.

Press mixture into the prepared 9×13 pan. Bake at 325ºF for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cut bars while warm but not hot. Let bars cool completely in the pan before removing or serving.
