This recipe brings back great memories of my childhood!
In a saucepan, combine caramels and 1/3 cup milk (half the can). Cook over low heat, stirring until melted. Set aside.
Grease and flour 9×13″ pan. In large bowl, combine cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup milk. By hand, stir the dough until it holds together. Press 1/2 of dough into pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Remove from oven. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Spread caramel mixture over chips. Spread rest of dough over caramels.
Bake 15 to 18 minutes. Cool in refrigerator for 30 minutes, or overnight.
