Crisp and chewy … nutty and chocolatey.
In large bowl, with an electric mixer at medium speed, beat flour, ¾ cup brown sugar and 1/3 cup butter for 2-3 minutes until particles are fine. Pat firmly into a greased bar pan. Sprinkle with pecans and press firmly.
In a 1-quart pan over medium heat, heat remaining ½ cup brown sugar and 2/3 cup butter until mixture boils. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly; drizzle evenly over pecans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until caramel layer is bubbly. Remove from oven; sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let stand for 2 minutes. Using a knife, lightly swirl melted chips into the caramel. Cool; cut into bars.
