Description

Best Ever Chewy Granola Bars … need I say more? Oh, yes! Easy, too!

Ingredients

  • 4-½ cups Rolled Oats
  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Or All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ⅔ cups Butter, Softened
  • ½ cups Honey
  • ⅓ cups Brown Sugar, Packed
  • 1 cup Your Favorite Peanut Butter
  • 2 cups Your Favorite Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325ºF.

Mix together all ingredients except chocolate chips. I’ve found that the back of a large metal spoon works great to work the honey and peanut butter into the dry ingredients. Once it is well incorporated, stir in the chocolate morsels and any other ingredients you would like (nuts, rasins, etc).

Generously spray a 9×13 pan and firmly press the mixture into the pan. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until light brown. It must begin to brown.

Let cool for about ten minutes or so and cut into bars.

Enjoy!

These were really easy to make. I tried these rather than the other granola bar recipes because it had peanut butter in it. My kids loved it! But my husband and I thought they were a bit on the too sweet side and more like cookie bars. Next time I’ll probably not use so much sugar, but I’ll definitely be making them again! Thanks!

These tasted very good. Mine were a little dry and crumble, will probably add a touch more honey next time

I make these all the time with varying goodies and everyone always loves them! They are easy to make and you can switch up the 2 cups of goodies to whatever you want. So many possibilities! I’ve found that if I firmly press the mixture into the pan with the flat bottom of a glass, it really helps the bars to stick together later.
