This is from a World War II era handwritten cookbook I have in my collection. Really quick and easy and sort of exotic!
Preheat oven to 350 F. Lay bananas on a rimmed baking sheet, and make two lengthwise slits down the top of the banana. Bake in the oven for approximately 7 minutes, or until black looking. Turn over, and bake until the other side is black. Remove the segment of the peel which was scored before baking. Mash the exposed banana slightly with fork, lay in 2 pats of butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Spoon the banana out of the peel or just remove the peel and eat with a fork.
Serve as a breakfast item (you can even sprinkle granola over it!), a desert, or omit the cinnamon sugar and serve instead of a baked potato.
