This is mom’s recipe for an easy apple cobbler full of walnuts. I like to serve it warm with vanilla ice cream.
Mix 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon and 1/2 cup walnuts. Set aside.
Place apples in the bottom of a greased 8-inch square pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon mixture. Sift together dry ingredients (including remaining cup of sugar); set aside.
Combine egg, milk and butter and add dry ingredients all at once; mix until smooth. Pour batter over apples. Sprinkle with remaining walnuts. Bake at 325 degrees for about 50 minutes.
Note: This can also be made with peaches instead of apples.

I made this with unpeeled bosc pears. It was fantastic. Will definitely make again.
