A classic!
Boil apple peelings and cores in a cup of water till colored. Strain. Add sugar and apple slices. Cook till transparent but not done.
Bake crust for 10 minutes.
Remove apples from water and add oleo, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Cook for a few minutes. Put apple slices in crust which has baked for about 10 minutes. Pour apple syrup over these. Put strips across pie and dot with oleo.
Bake at 425 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and cook until crust is brown.
